    The UBC! Never heard of it? Well you're not alone... We were in Las Vegas this past weekend and stayed at the MGM Grand. Advertisements were seen flashing by on all big screens promoting the UBC (Ultimate Bboy Championship) at the MGM Grand Garden Arena. Beat Swapmeet @ Grand Star Jazz Club in Chinatown, Los Angeles

     This past weekend we were at the Beat Swapmeet at Grand Star Jazz Club located in the historic Chinatown of downtown Los Angeles. Beat-Swap-Meet is a record swap meet consisting of over 30 invited vendors & collectors from California and surrounding states, selling Blues, Funk, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Punk, Reggae, Rock, Soul, and World 12" and 45 Records. It had a couple of interesting vendors from handmade handbags, to established streetwear brands selling their stuff for some pretty good deals. After about two alleys deep of walking by people shopping at various vendors, watching people swap records, and passing music enthusiast diggin' through crates, there were bboy crews battling it out with a good crowd of onlookers watching and listening to some good music. There's not much more to say but it was just another beautiful day of real Hip Hop and music in Southern Cali.
